Constitutional carry effective November 2019. 18+ for military members. Otherwise 21+. Oklahoma Self-Defense Act license still available for reciprocity. Oklahoma has some of the strongest self-defense laws in the nation. Businesses can prohibit carry by posting signage.

Where You Cannot Carry
Even without a permit requirement, the following locations in Oklahoma prohibit firearms:
- Government buildings
- courthouses
- schools
- bars
- sports venues
- casinos
- jails
- any posted private property
Federal law always applies. Regardless of state law, carrying is always prohibited in federal buildings, post offices, VA facilities, military installations, airports (past TSA security), and anywhere prohibited by federal statute. These restrictions apply in every state.
Self-Defense Law
Stand Your Ground: Yes — Stand Your Ground. In Oklahoma, you have no duty to retreat before using force in self-defense when you are in a place where you have a legal right to be.
Castle Doctrine: Yes. You have no duty to retreat when defending your home against an intruder.
