What We Like
- Trigger rivals guns at 2x the price — flat-face, clean break, short reset
- Ships with holster, speed loader, extra magazine, backstraps
- 18+1 / 20+1 capacity
- Optic-ready with MeCanik mount
- Excellent accuracy for a duty-size gun
What We Don't
- Full-size frame is difficult to conceal daily
- Century Arms warranty support can be slow
- Magazine availability limited to Canik-specific sources
- Turkish import — some buyers prefer domestic manufacturers
The Value Equation
The METE SFT ships with more in the box than most guns costing $800+: the pistol, two magazines (18- and 20-round), an IWB holster, a speed loader, three interchangeable backstraps, cleaning tools, and a hard case. Some SKUs include a MeCanik micro red dot. At $475, the package is borderline absurd.
The trigger is the headliner. Canik's flat-face enhanced trigger produces a clean break at approximately 4.5 lbs with a short, tactile reset. In side-by-side comparisons, it matches or exceeds the Walther PDP's trigger — and the PDP is already considered the best in class. For a $475 gun, this trigger quality is legitimately disruptive.
Duty & Home Defense Role
The METE SFT is built for nightstand duty, range training, and competition — not concealed carry. At 7.55 inches long and 1.41 inches wide with a 20-round magazine, daily concealment requires real commitment. This isn't a criticism; it's a design intent. The longer barrel, heavier frame, and full grip produce a flat-shooting platform that's a pleasure to run at the range.
Reliability across independent reviews is strong. The METE SFT benefits from Canik's experience with the TP9 series — the internal platform is mature even if the external packaging is relatively new. Most reviewers report zero malfunctions through 1,000+ rounds.
Who Is This Gun For?
Best for
Home defense, range duty, and competition on a budget. The METE SFT delivers more trigger and more capacity per dollar than anything else on the market.

You need to conceal carry daily (buy a compact), prefer domestic manufacturers, or need the deepest possible magazine and aftermarket ecosystem (Glock 17 or SIG P320).
