What We Like

Performance & Reliability
The P365's reliability record is now beyond question. After early-production striker drag issues in 2018 that SIG addressed promptly, the platform has accumulated millions of rounds across law enforcement, military, and civilian use with a failure rate that's effectively zero in properly maintained guns.
Accuracy at 15 yards is 2–3 inch groups for competent shooters — remarkable for a 3.1-inch barrel. The XRAY3 sights are among the best factory sights on any pistol at any price: tritium front with a bright ring, blacked-out rear for a clean sight picture.
Ergonomics & Shootability
The P365 is a gun you carry a lot and shoot adequately. It's not a range-day gun — the short grip, light weight, and snappy recoil make extended sessions fatiguing. But it shoots well enough for its intended purpose: accurate defensive fire at 3–7 yards.
The module ecosystem is the P365's long-term value proposition. Buy one serialized FCU and swap between standard, X, XL, and Macro grip modules to match your carry context. Summer pocket carry? Standard frame. Winter OWB? XL or Macro. No other micro-compact platform offers this flexibility.
Market Position
Six years after launch, the P365 remains the default recommendation in the micro-compact class. Competitors have matched or exceeded it on individual metrics — the MC9's trigger is better, the Hellcat's capacity matched it, the Shield Plus undercuts it on price — but no single competitor beats it across the board. The module ecosystem, proven reliability, and SIG's support infrastructure keep it on top.
The P365 is the iPhone of micro-compacts: not the best at any one thing, but the best-integrated package with the deepest ecosystem.
